Axe vs Sword vs Club – Which is better?

So I am trying to figure out what wpn is the best and why?

1. What wpn is best if you dont care about the money?
2. What wpn is best if you care about max def?
3. What wpn is best if you care about max dmg?
4. What wpn is best if you want to consider the cost?

Anyone care to help out?

Sword, but only marginally. Def/Shielding are useless stats unfortunately.

Using a 1h it seems like axe would be the best.

SWORD:
Shiny blade: Attack: 50 Def:35 + 3, 1 sword skill
Ornate Shield: Def:36, protection physical +5%
Total: 50 Attack, 39 def, 5 % physical protection and 1x sword skill

Club:
Mycological Mace: Atk:50, Def:31 +3, club fighting +1
Ornate shield: Def:36, protection physical +5%
total: 50 Attack, 39 def, 5 % physical protection and 1x club skill

Axe:
Crystalline Axe: Atk:51, Def:29 +3, axe fighting +1
Ornate: Def:36, protection physical +5%
total: 51 Attack, 39 def, 5 % physical protection and 1x axe skill

This means axe would be the best if you do not care about cost, right?

axes best choice tbh

Because umbrals, maybe in that level range axes would be the most useful though. I can’t help but to think end-game.

However, I wouldn’t even worry that much about the melee type. Historically the best obtainable melee type has changed a few times and it might do that again.

It’s cheap
It’s the strongest
The boosts are cheap (WCA, club ring)
But ugly af

Same as above, since all umbral weapons will cost relatively the same

Clubs for 2h weapons, axes for 1h, club will still let you hit the most overall

I’d still go with club, because of the rest of the equipment. Again, all umbral weapons by themselves should cost around the same

In the end that little damage difference does not matter at all.

You guys make it sound its a matter of life and death.

Im a top 50 club fighter on Tibia and the difference in damage is not noticeable

The weapon system is archaic and outdated. The best weapon is the weapon that has the strongest attack in combination with skill boosts obtained from gear. I have no idea what that is, I’m not a knight.

A club and an axe with identical attack and identical player skill will do identical damage.

Back in the day, the intention was axe for attack, club for defense and sword in between but in modern tibia, this philosophy has long been forgotten. Wouldn’t mind the weapon system getting a revamp in addition to the (eventual) mage revamp.

Club has never been for defense. the best weapons were skull staff, and war hammer and their defense is abysmal since the Thunder Hammer and Crystal mace were not really for hunting.

Clubs were only good weight wise in those classes and they were cheap as BLEEP combined with club rings(cyclops)

The people ignored club untill the POI update since there was no club in the Annilator.

Club cheaper
Axe more atk
Sword more def

I use sword coz i like swords nothing more 😛
