I Really feel that this game would benefit as a whole from Region Locking. It may result in an extra minute or Queue time but it will result as well in a better overall experience for both newer and more experienced players. I ask the Dota community to please sign this petition which will make the game far more competative and playable as a whole.

The problem is communication, not geographic location. You need a functional and enforceable language filter, not a region lock.

If it surpasses 99 It will at least show Valve that this is a serious problem. Region locking would grandly fix the problem at least in the states as currently every game I’m in it’s actually rare to get one other person who actually speaks the same language as you.

Again, 100 people is not even slighty large enough number for Valve to look at. Not to mention that petition wont even make it to Valve even if you do get 100 people to sign it.

I don’t want to sign it because I don’t care.

What are you going to do once you get 100 signatures?

If you don’t care then I’d suggest you uninstall dota 2 and stop posting on the dota 2 forums because obviously you do care since you keep asking.

Not when you queue matchmaking.

When you queue matchmaking you’re being basically forced into a room with a group of people and told if you leave the room you will be penalized.

Because god forbid you form a team. Even just one person.

I don’t mind foreigners but I would like them to be able to understand/speak/type English on English servers.

I’m the same way, but the problem is that it’s easier to Region lock than to Language lock, if you Region lock the regions that generally speak the same language will be forced to play with each other rather than hopping to servers where their language isn’t commonly spoken.

It’s not Racism, it’s not even a personal thing. It’s that I don’t want to lose because 1 guy is deaf/blind to the rest of the team.
